KfW IPEX-Bank, a German state-owned bank, is supporting a massive toxic ammonia plant on indigenous land, the Ohuira Bay in the Gulf of California in Mexico.
Whales migrate through the Gulf of California, where they feed, raise calves, and travel along ancient routes.
The ammonia would be transported across the ocean on huge tanker ships. These vessels will bring deafening noise to the tranquil waters of the Gulf and risk collisions with whales migrating here.
SHIP STRIKES ARE THE LEADING CAUSE OF DEATH FOR WHALES WORLDWIDE
KfW brags about sustainability while it invests in threatening indigenous communities' fishing grounds in “the aquarium of the world.”
KfW IPEX-Bank, is wholly owned by the German government.
That means this project is being enabled with public money.
Our money to finance should not be used to finance the destruction of one of the most important marine ecosystems on Earth!
Tell KfW IPEX-Bank: Don’t finance a world with fewer whales!
Sign the petition and demand that the German government withdraws support from the ammonia plant in Ohuira Bay.
